Record Number of Refugees Welcomed to Move to Canada
Canada became the home to 46,700 refugees in 2016, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Jean-Nicolas Beuze, is thrilled. Beuze, who was appointed as representative in January 2017, stated, “We are very delighted that last year such high numbers (of refugees) were able to be resettled.”
